The Place
Wake up among sheep, listen to the winds of the Patagonian steppe and watch whales in Península Valdés from one of the most authentic corners of Patagonia.
Set between the vast Patagonian steppe and the waters of Golfo San José, El Hinojo Eco Lodge is a retreat created for those seeking an intimate and genuine Patagonian experience.
The property features just two exclusive houses, carefully integrated into the natural landscape and designed to offer privacy, comfort and a deep connection with the surroundings.
During whale season, Southern Right Whales can often be seen from the coast. Throughout the year, guanacos, seabirds and other native wildlife are part of a landscape that has preserved its wild character and natural beauty.
Beyond the lodge itself, El Hinojo is also a working Patagonian sheep ranch dedicated to wool production. Here, life moves at the pace of the countryside: sheep grazing across the steppe, the constant wind and the daily rural activities that have shaped the identity of this place for generations.
The Cabins
Without compromising on comfort, every detail has been thoughtfully designed to create a balance between well-being, efficiency and respect for nature.
With open views of the sea and the Patagonian steppe, private decks and all the comforts needed for a relaxing stay, our houses offer a unique connection with nature.
Powered entirely by solar energy, they combine comfort and sustainability in one of Patagonia's most extraordinary settings.
During whale season, Southern Right Whales can often be seen directly from the houses. On calm days, the sound of their blows can even be heard from bed, making every morning an unforgettable experience.

Location
Located on Argentina's Atlantic coast in the province of Chubut, Península Valdés is one of the world's most important marine wildlife sanctuaries. Designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1999, it provides an exceptional refuge for Southern Right Whales, orcas, penguins, elephant seals and a remarkable diversity of wildlife.
We offer airport transfers from Puerto Madryn and Trelew airports (advance booking required). Guests may also arrive by private or rental vehicle. The final part of the journey follows well-maintained gravel roads. Due to the distances involved and the nature of the terrain, we recommend travelling in a high-clearance or 4x4 vehicle for a more comfortable experience.
